And then there’s that night when a monster storm with its harrowing, spooky winds blows through the region. You go to sleep only to be awakened by the loud crash of some bad karma happening nearby. Peeking through the window, one of the branches from the old oak – thick as an elephant’s trunk – has just about demolished your car. You roll back under the covers, putting it out of your mind. You’ve just been blessed with an Austin version of a snow day.
