I could hear someone inside the room. Slowly I crept towards the door with my knife in my hand. After taking a deep breath I flung open the door. The room was dusty, just as it had been last time, but this time, standing on the other end of the room in tattered clothes and holding a flashlight stood Michael. We stood staring at each other for a full minute before my knife fell to the floor and I rushed towards him. Michael dropped his flashlight and I flung my arms around him.
Heath stares at the layout of weapons laying on Marci's table. "Feeling violent?" "No, I', not feeling violent, I'm feeling creative with weapons." "Oh...nice..." Heath trails off, scratching the scar at the base of his neck. "I just wanted to tell you that Seth did what he had to-" "That's all anyone wants to talk about, that Seth had to do it and he had no other choice. Oh, he had choices!" Marcie releases a knife from her grip and it impales a tree a few feet beside Heath.
Graphic Design? Yes! and it packs a punch with a collage of principles of design. It works simply because its clean, simple, and shows tude (attitude). I feel this tells a story of a world of shapes and mystery.

I recorded their voice into Garage band, took a screen shot of the waves (they say "I love you mommy!"), used an exacto knife to cut the waves out, then painted over the top. Time consuming? Yes! But hearing the stories of the moms when they opened their presents and the tears in their eyes when they said thank you was worth all the time in the world! Priceless!
While this particular prompt asks you to write a story about becoming the richest person in the world you could easily change any of the parameters. Imagine how different the story would be if you were sent back to 800 B.C. or were given a modern steel knife instead of a gold coin. What if your goal was romance or a desire to change the political history of the world? Find out more about writing prompts at http://www.randylindsay.net/writing
