At home, 8th grader Josh "fancied up" his assigned "Normal or Nuts" write-up for his notebook, and he glued it in the day it was due. I gave him a "Notebook Award" for creating such a great page. My sixth graders who went camping at "adventure camp" this spring had a special Mr. Stick of the Year category just for them: Best Sierra Nevada Journeys Memories. Here is Mason's two-page spread; note the vomiting student in the corner...the things we don't know about until we read them after the fact in a writer's notebook. May the Fourth be with You! It's May 4th, and I loved Lexxie's vocabulary metaphor (which I actually graded on May 2nd) for the word lymphatic. So what? I'm a huge Star Wars nerd, and I can still be pandered to by my students. Thanks, Lexxie. Check out my vocabulary materials online: http://corbettharrison.com/Vocabulary.htm
