I found an archived folder of photos of my kids' notebook pages from that time before we had Pinterest. Some students (like 6th grader Dylan) plan out  a page's layout before they begin writing, which doesn't work for all, but when it works...well, GO, DYLAN! At home, 8th grader Josh "fancied up" his assigned "Normal or Nuts" write-up for his notebook, and he glued it in the day it was due.  I gave him a "Notebook Award" for creating such a great page.
