And, we’re dropping the other sock (ha!)! This Santa wine wrap is made from the other pair of holiday socks we picked up at @riteaidpharmacy. Here too, we snipped off the five little toe compartments (sounds a bit ghastly, doesn’t it?) and created a simple drawstring effect to close up the sock bottom. The finishing touches were gluing a fluffy little cotton ball to Santa’s hat and adding the red bow. Boom. Wine gifting sorted.
Inspiration struck us in @riteaidpharmacy when we saw they had seasonal socks on sale. We snipped off the toe bits (they were five-toed socks) and did a quick little darning job to create a kind of drawstring bottom - et, volià - a wine gifting sock!
We’re a bit late to the party and only recently discovered washi tape - Japanese tape made of natural fibers, often decorated with the most delightful patterns and/or colors. We recently went a little overboard on @etsy and found all sorts of beautiful designs. Our rationale? It’s a good idea to stock up before the holidays! Etsy sources: @washitape, @eycstudio and The Washi Shop.
Finally getting to dig into this new little trove of washi tape! Washi tape originated in Japan, purportedly in 2006, when several artists approached a masking tape company with a request that they produce a line of colored tapes. Patterned tapes came next and helped popularize the new product which is marvelous for adorning all sorts of things - especially gifts and parcels!
Nutcrackers, evergreen wreaths, gingerbread houses, sugar plums dancing in our heads - we love it all! So, we were just a tad bit thrilled to find this magical little house box @michaelsstores. We’re going to tuck it full of small treats that we hope will delight and entrance a wee one this holiday season. As for the ornament, well, it was supposed to be a gift garnish but we’re mighty tempted to keep it ourselves…
