Saint Patrick was a fifth-century Christian missionary in Ireland who used a three-leaf clover to explain the Trinity. The shamrock later became the Irish national emblem, proudly worn on Saint Patrick's Day (March 17) to honor the Emerald Isle and its patron saint. St. Patrick's Day pin by Martha Stewart (from March 2003 magazine). I actually made one of these years ago and it turned out really cute! Since I can't find it, I guess I'll make another one. :)
