On April, 15 1985 Thomas "Hit Man" Hearns won the World Middleweight title. This is one of five weight classes that he has won a boxing title making him the first African American to win boxing titles in five different weight classes. Mr Hearns was named Ring Magazine fighter of the year in 1980 and 1984 and is best known for his fights with Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler and Roberto Durán.
