      All-Purpose Quick Mix Recipe (aka Copycat Bisquick Mix): In Lg bowl, sift together 5lb (20c) bag flour, 4c nonfat dry milk powder or buttermilk powder, 3/4c baking powder, 2T salt & 1T cream of tartar. With Pastry blender (or hands) cut in 5c vegetable shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal in texture.     Foolproof Flaky Buttermilk Biscuits - oh my gosh, made these this morning. This is my go-to recipe from now on. The technique makes them so light and flaky. I think I'll try these again with whole wheat flour, maybe add some green chile or cheese? These are just absolutely delicious!
