BALAAM son of Beor, meaning Destroyer of People; diviner in Moab.  Balak summoned Balaam to curse Israel so he could defeat them.  The Angel of the Lord blocked Balaam's donkey's path.  When Balaam beat his donkey, God caused the animal to speak!  God controlled Balaam's mouth so that he could not curse Israel, instead only blessing them & prophesied of a coming King.  However Balaam arranged for Moabite women to seduce the men of Israel to defeat them.  Balaam was later killed by the sword.
