This are the grand children of the MAN eaters of Tsavo, these were two lions that terrorized workers who were constructing the Kenya railway in the early 1900s , they were killed by Lt. Col. John Henry Patterson and sold for USD 5000 to the Field Museum in Chicago, where, stuffed, they greet visitors to this day. Kenya is in the process of bringing them back whereby the people can come and watch them. Tsavo National Parks (EAST & WEST) is home to other wildlife animals
The Aberdare National Park, with an area of 767 Km2 covers the higher areas of the Aberdare Mountain Ranges of Central Kenya, altitude ranges between 1829M to 4001M ASL. The topography is quite diverse with deep gorges that cut through the woody eastern and western slopes. Animals to watch are the Black Rhino, leopard, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey and sykes monkey. Cats include lions the golden cat and the bongo- an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest.
