I use these Whole Brain Teaching attention getters on a daily basis with my ELL students. These attention getters are a great way to improve your classroom management. I usually pick one or two to teach the class at the beginning of the year. Then every month or every few weeks, I introduce a new attention getter, which my students can't wait for!!
self esteem - students write complete sentences on each petal about what makes them special or proud. could also do a version where other students write complete sentences about the student in the center of the circle.
Weekly Progress Report. A nice way to improve parent-school communication - the parents initial the page each week and return it. Add to student file to discuss at report card conference time. My students have a communication duo-tang that goes from home to school each day, so I will attach the progress report in there to keep it from getting lost!
