Another pinner says: Hot Vinegar and Dawn Soap! Seriously, I saw this on Pinterest and decided to try it on my white shower tile...WOW! 1 cup of HOT Vinegar (microwave 1-2 min) and 1 cup of blue DAWN liquid soap. Shake into bottle and creates a gel that is OUT OF THIS WORLD!
How to get your dirty whites clean again... HOT HOT HOT water, 1 cap of laundry detergent, 1 cup powdered dish washer detergent, 1 cup bleach, 1/2 cup borax. Tell you what, you have to rewash it once to put softener in but it's the whitest you'll ever see your whites. If you omit the bleach it works great to get stains out of colors too (baby spit up is no longer a stain on OLD clothes)
My neighbor's house always had the clearest windows EVER! One day I helped her with some spring-cleaning. She didn't use a single paper towel or commercial cleaner but mixed 2 cups hot water with ¼ cup vinegar & 1 TBS of cornstarch, shook in spray bottle & spritzed the windows, then wiped down w/ crumpled newspaper. Unlike paper or cloth towels, newspaper is absorbent without leaving lint behind. This homemade window wash solution w/ newspaper works like NOTHING else for PERFECTLY CLEAR…
My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
Carpet Shampoo Solution: 1 cup oxiclean* 1 cup febreeze* 1 cup distilled white vinegar *The homemade versions work fabulously! Pour contents into shampooer tub and mix with hot water to fill tub completely. This will not only clean your carpets it will also deodorize. It will smell slightly of vinegar until the carpet is dry. Be sure to test spot with the solution just to be safe, however this should be safe for ALL carpets.
