Eric of Pomerania (Germany) (1381/1382 - 1459). King of Denmark from 1396 to 1439, when he was deposed. He was King of Norway from 1389 to 1442. He was King of Sweden from 1396 to 1439. He married Philippa of England, but had no children. He was the only King of Denmark from the House of Pomerania. The first king of the Nordic Kalmar Union, he spent his last years living on the island of Gothland and "sent forth piratical expeditions against friend and foe alike".
