Good point, Nancy. Do the shleves need to face the bed with the drawers facing front like they are? Depending on how deep the shelves are built, you could have some front-facing shallow shelves facing front with deeper shelves facing toward the bed. When we EVENTUALLY get around to it, I'd like to do something like this from the closets in Mama's old bedroom now occupied by Unc.

this is well arrange, but just too quiet for me. If the inside backs were painted a Chinese red, all of the beigey objects would just pop! They would assume an importance they don't have now. Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray

I love the negative space around the items on the shelf so everything looks more important.

Garage bedroom. Nice, kick the car out and bring in a bed. Gives new meaning to "you are going to sleep in the garage"!

Love everything about this bedroom. It's like stepping back in time to when things were more elegant & sophisticated.

Apparently it's a Murphy bed, but I like it as a tall shelf/cabinet space

this ~ but w/o the fluted sides & the drawers are extended out a bit with a level shelf on the reveal like the last image i pinned)
