The Villa Park Historical Society Museum located in Villa Park, IL collects, preserves and interprets the Villa Park heritage and shares it with the community through exhibitions and education in order to increase knowledge, and appreciation. Built in 1929 the building originally served the community as the Villa Ave stop for the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin electric train line and an appliance store.
Farraline Park School or Dr Bell's Institution nowadays known as the Inverness Public Library. The building is in Greek-revival style with a fine tetrastyle pedimented Doric portico built 1839-41 by architect William Robertson of Elgin. The school founded under the will of Rev. Dr. Andrew Bell (1753-1832), originator of the 'Madras System' of education, it operated as a school until 1937.
