One of the best parts about traveling is the exposure to new and exciting things. And it doesn't always require busting out your passport. This little gem comes from one of my many trips to Texas. Austin, Texas to be specific. I am a SXSW regular, you see, and this little puppy has kicked off many a tequila-filled nights while there. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Frosty Mexican Bulldog Margarita

One of the best parts about traveling is the exposure to new and exciting things. And it doesn't always require busting out your passport. This little gem comes from one of my many trips to Texas. Frozen Pink Lemonade Margaritas in little jars are adorable and tasty.  You know how to make these, but just in case you're new, all you need is Pink Lemonade Concentrate (1 can), Water (3 cans), then throw in Tequila, Grand Marnier, and squeeze some limes in it.  Add crushed ice, but don't burn up your blender doing it.  Cubes are cool.  Mmmm.

Bomb Pop Shots 1/3 oz Sprite 1/3 oz lemon vodka 2/3 oz blue Curacao 2/3 oz grenadine ice Mix the vodka and Sprite in a shaker with some ice to chill it.Strain into glass. Using a bar spoon, very slowly pour the blue Curacao to layer it. Next add the grenadine by pouring it slowly into the glass right on the edge so it sinks to the bottom.

The Fish Bowl Rum Ingredients ½ cup Nerds candy ½ gallon goldfish bowl 5 oz. vodka 5 oz. Malibu rum 3 oz. blue Curacao 6 oz. sweet-and-sour mix 16 oz. pineapple juice 16 oz. Sprite 3 slices each: lemon, lime, orange 4 Swedish gummy fish Method Sprinkle Nerds on bottom of bowl as “gravel.” Fill bowl with ice. Add remaining ingredients. Serve with 18-inch party straws.

Making Margaritas for a large group? Use this big batch recipe!   Margaritas by the Gallon: 6 cups tequila (you'll need to buy two fifths for this), 2 cups triple sec (just buy one fifth), 2 cups fresh lime juice, 2 cups fresh lemon juice,  2 cups simple syrup. *Mix ingredients together in gallon container. Don't forget to refrigerate! When ready to serve, pour mixture into a 16-oz glass filled with ice. Salted rim is optional. Makes 21 margaritas.
