As a woman who travels a lot some countries attract me more than others. One place I hadn't felt a need to visit was Bangladesh - until I spent a week there in 2011. What a discovery! Amazingly friendly people, fabulous food, a photograph worth taking every minute of every day. It's a difficult country, poor, with basic infrastructure - and I love it. If you're an independent traveler with an adventurous streak, this is a must-see country.
