Diaphanous, Sometimes Deadly, Jellyfish Pictures From National Geographic's Archives
School Sanctuary Photograph by David Doubilet, National Geographic Creative Jellyfish are integral parts of many ocean food webs, playing the part of both predator and prey. However, occasionally, they also serve as shelter for specialized fish. These fish species are immune to the jelly's sting. Their immunity allows them to hide out among the tentacles. In turn, they act as bait for larger fish, which end up ensnared by the jellyfish.

Lion Pride, Serengeti Photograph by Michael Nichols, National Geographic A pride of lions rests on a kopje, or rocky outcrop, near a favorite water hole in the Serengeti. Alaa, an ambulance driver, feeds cats in Masaken Hanano in Aleppo, September 24, 2014. Alaa buys about $4 of meat every day to feed about 150 abandoned cats in Masaken Hanano, a neighborhood in Aleppo that has been abandoned because of shelling from forces loyal to Syria's president Bashar Al-Assad on it. Alaa said that he has been feeding and taking care of the cats for over 2 months.
The training of baby elephant is cruel, using ropes, fear and pain. The circus is no place for a wild animal. What might be an afternoon at the big top for some people can be a life of chronic boredom, abuse, confinement and stress for animals, who are denied the ability to express their most basic natural behaviours. Please help to create a better future for these animals by pledging never to support cruel animal circuses.
In circuses that use animals, baby elephants are STOLEN from their mothers, then electro-shocked & BEATEN into performing tricks: http://peta.vg/1cen MY KIDS WILL NEVER GO!!
