Whelk egg case - Florida Whelk is a common name that is applied to various kinds sea snail, many of which have historically been used, or are still used, by humans for food.

Some thought this would be fun however, egg cases shouldn't be use for fun. Leave them where you find them on the beaches unless the rattle when you shake them.
