Seattle, Alki Beach--This beach is actually fairly horrible. The water's freezing, it's rocky as all heck, but... it's a beach all the same and we still went there.

To avoid spending $15 or more on parking for an afternoon at the Pike Place Market, take the bus and get off at the Westlake station, from where you can walk to the market. Dozens of bus routes go through the tunnel and the market is less than a quarter mile away. (Josh Trujillo/seattlepi.com file)

Seattle, WA- Really cool place- You have to go to Mt Rainier while you are there so you can see the Lady of the Mountain. Beautiful. Also, there's the Experience Music Project. It's a music museum and there's even a ride where you can rock out with funk legends and dance :) You and your family/ friends/ strangers can even pose as a band for a photo souvenir ;)
