Anne Frank. What remarkable spirit she had. She died of typhus within days of her sister. It was her Father Otto who discovered her diary and took action to have it published. She and her family were i hiding for TWO YEARS. The diary was given to Anne Frank for her thirteenth birthday and chronicles the events of her life from June 12, 1942 until its final entry of August 1, 1944.

This photo is believed to be the last of Anne Frank and her sister, before they went into hiding. It was this day in history (June 12, 1942) that Anne received the diary that would one day make her story famous. Her house, located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is now a museum.
