Feldmarschall Ferdinand  Prinz von Brunswick, brother-law of Frederick the Great (12th January 1721-3rd July 1792). In 1740 was a Colonel in the Prussian service, he excelled and came to the attention of Frederick during the War of the Austrian Succession at Moviste. Placed in command of Allied Army and led it to victory at the Battle of Minden.
