    Love the idea of using Natives as a general flower theme. In pretty pinks and soft peaches.

    A member of the Protea family, Blushing Bride flowers in spring producing papery white bracts, or floral leaves, surrounding feathery tufts of white to pinkish flowers.

    South Africa - The King Protea, (Protea cynaroides), is a flowering plant. Its flower head (what the layman will call the 'flower') is the largest in the genus Protea: the species is also known as Giant Protea, Honeypot or King Sugar Bush.

    I love Protea but never knew how to use it in a floral arrangement. This is beautiful with the white peonies and eucalyptus.

    King Protea - the floral emblem of South Africa. They grow prolifically by the side of the road in some areas but it is illegal to pick them. They do look regal!

    Protea | Do well in a low maintenance, low water and poor soil garden. Love open and sunny locations, they give year round color and make a beautiful cut flower.
