Major Mitchell Cockatoo, Australia WOW. I've seen a lot of the parrot family, but never this lovely one.

The female is smaller w| less red on face. Young ones have pale yellow margins on feathers of the underside and a paler bill. They are found in the tropical rainforests of Cape York Peninsula, Queensland. ༻✿༺ ❤️ ༻✿༺

Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) is a relatively large white cockatoo found in wooded habitats in Australia & New Guinea. They can be locally very numerous, leading to them sometimes being considered pests. Cockatoo is any of 21 species belonging to the bird family Cacatuidae, the only family in the superfamily Cacatuoidea. Along with the Psittacoidea (true parrots) and the Strigopoidea (large New Zealand parrots), they make up the order Psittaciformes (parrots).
