As well as volunteering on the Heysen Trail, John Potter is a volunteer with his local Cudlee Creek SA Country Fire Service, and is among an army of volunteers doing 12-hour shifts to protect life and property in the Adelaide Hills bushfire.
Ever since I was a young boy, I knew when I grew up I wanted to be a firefighter. It is something that has been in my family for many years. Right now I am currently working on my fire science degree which will get me one step closer to where I want to be. Soon I will be fighting fires and saving lives with my brothers by my side.
