Probably from Gaul, the spherical body with a short neck and rounded rim, on a pedestal foot, decorated in the barbotine technique with ivy tendrils and scrolling, framing a peacock on either side, with dots perhaps representing clusters of grapes, the register framed by bands above and below (Christies)
