I really want my daughter to grow up with a piano. I like the idea of a painted one so that it wouldn't look too formal in the living room. Could be a really fun way to get a pop of color. Anyone know of anyone who wants to get rid of an old one?

Look on Craigs List. We found a family giving away theirs & it is BEAUTIFUL! Cost us $80 for the truck rental & whatever the cost will be to have it tuned. It's a beautiful cheery wood color & came with a bench

Some charities with their own thrift store that receive donations from older/deceased people tend to have them. In Chicago, there's "The Ark" on Milwaukee Ave. (near Division) usually has one or two (or three!) pianos.
