We finally decided that we wanted our artist to want to have a star image so that they could get more noticed by people. Some inspirations that influenced these choices were, Rihanna and Taylor Swift's digipaks, as they had a major star image. We copied the Polaroid effect which we thought was in trends recently with many artists. Another reason as to why we picked the Polaroid effects for the photos, were because it went with our genre of the music video which was indie/pop.

As you can see on these pictures, we decided to have challenge the conventions of some music videos like Beyonce's videos' have a lot of star image, voyeurism and seemed to look like she is unreachable. However we challenged these conventions to make our artist look like she is relatable to ordinary people. Also through the choice of outfits you can see the way our artist has a more relatable style to Beyonce's.

One way that my group challenged the conventions of music videos was that most female artists that we looked at were depressed over their love lives. These were seen as one of the most common conventions of the music videos, however instead of the artist being depressed over love we decided to make her depressed over the drugs that she was taking and the bad influence and challenge the conventions.

In the scenes where the artist was singing, we used a lot of scenes from Tove Lo- Stay High. She had a similar concept to our idea of someone partying to which this gave us a lot of ideas from her video. In this GIF it shows the artist singing with a middle shot to which the artist did so as well with a party behind her. We thought that this was a very effective way of showing that the video was still a music video while showing what is happening behind her.

This is some evidence of the inspiration that we took from Tove Lo's video "stay high" as we thought it was a very effective way of showing the atmosphere whilst showing that the main focus is the artist at the same time, when she is acting and singing. We thought this is a good idea to do as the medium shot allows the audience to see where she is but she is also the main center of attention for the star image of the music video.

We saw that the way that Britney Spears and Ellie Golding made sure that they had star image in their digipaks was having double page spreads of them posing. Therefore we decided to have a photoshoot and do the same, to show the artist's star image. However, we did want her to have star image but in a relatable manner, not in an unacheiveable way.

We chose to do mainly medium shots of the artist when filming 'Blaize' lip sync as we wanted all the attention to be on her when she was singing as we wanted the conventions of star image to take place. As you can see, artists like Charlie XCX which are upcoming and new artists seem to have medium shots a lot to show star image and get recognized.

These are the scenes from the 'eat, sleep, rave, repeat' music video to which we got inspiration from. The flashing lights and the people having fun inspired us to do that in our own video as it looked like the atmosphere was vibrant and fun, as we applied in our own music video. We developed the conventions by not having it in a club, but having it in a house party, so make it more relatable, so in some ways it could be seen as going against the conventions.

The scenes where it was partying like this, we used other music videos for inspiration like; Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat by Fatboy Slim, Riva Starr & Beardyma. In the scenes from there we saw a lot of inspiration for the party scene with the flashing lights and the types of costumes that the actors should wear. The costumes were mainly casual party wear which inspired us to fit the dress code when preparing to film.

In this scene the outfit which we used did use stereotypical conventions of an indie music video as it can be seen as a majestic outfit with the fur and the colors. However it could be seen as challenging the conventions of pop music videos as the artists show a lot of skin resulting in voyeurism whereas the artist in this video is covering up her body and wearing an over sized jacket.
