Normal SWAT that is spiced up. I made this mat/game board with a cheap dollar tree table coat and some clear packing tape and voila! A "new" center. It was a HUGE hit this morning. An added bonus: since you can't take the card if you swat it first, we kept score on the smart board using tally marks, which gave us extra practice on this math skill :) From Life in First grade blog.

This totally gives me an idea for an interactive alphabet game using laminated letters, poster board, and Velcro. (Swat game - swat the word (reading center) make on a poster- one person reads, while other students try to swat the word)

This game is strategically linked to Common Core Standards. Kindergarten level but I will use for first grade during smart start week to assess what the students come into first grade able to do. And for remediation of lower level students through year.

Debbie Diller I can posters - I want to make a poster for the choices students have when they finish an assignment.

math menu - lots of different math options - great for stations or for students who finish early. This is 2nd grade, but is a good idea.
