The Mayan Ruins of Monte Albán, Oaxaca, México. I have to see this place in person someday. So much history
Monte Albán, a large pre-Columbian archaeological site. Oaxaca, Mexico. Besides being one of the earliest cities of Mesoamerica, Monte Albán's importance stems also from its role as the pre-eminent Zapotec socio-political and economic center for close to a thousand years.

It's the most beautiful place to visit early in the morning when almost no one else is there. It feels unreal, standing there. It's a beautiful feeling.

Hierve el Agua. Petrified waterfall in Oaxaca, Mexico is a natural stone formation. It is caused by small amounts of water depositing minerals on the rock face, like how stalactites are formed.
Petrified waterfall at Hierve el Agua in Oaxaca, Mexico (by nathangibbs). The falls are a set of natural rock formations created by fresh water springs, whose water is over-saturated with calcium carbonate and other minerals. As the water scurries over the cliffs, the excess minerals are deposited, much in the same manner that stalactites are formed in caves.

The site consists of two rock shelves or cliffs which rise between fifty and ninety metres from the valley below, from which extend nearly white rock formations which look like waterfalls. These formations are created by fresh water springs, whose water is over-saturated with calcium carbonate and other minerals. As the water scurries over the cliffs, the excess minerals are deposited, much in the same manner that stalactites are formed in caves. One of the cliffs, called the "cascada chica" (small waterfall) or the Amphitheatre, contains two large artificial pools for swimming as well as a number of small natural pools. One of the artificial pools is very near the edge of the cliff.
