Supplement Closet Space - Idea for Makeup or accessory storage "This vintage-inspired bedroom armoire has oodles of ways to keep things tidy. Bins and boxes to neatly corral belts, headbands, and other small accessories adorn the shelves, leaving enough room on other shelves for a row of upright purses and stacked shirts. Mirrors on the upper and lower doors make it easy to look good from head to toe."

An armoire something like this would be GREAT to make a sewing / craft cabinet for my 10 yo granddaughter!

Smart Closet - Ditch the single-bar setup common in most closets for a configuration that fits your wardrobe. Carve out a slender hanging space for long clothing, add drawers for delicate items and jewelry, install shelves to corral shoes down low, and cap the whole system off with a single shelf to hold out-of-season or special-occasion gear. Still need more storage? Try lining bare walls with a slat-board system. Use the grooves to support hangers for purses or other accessories.

Set Up a Kitchen Pantry Cleverly outfitted, an old armoire can become a storage-rich kitchen pantry. Repaint the cabinet to match your kitchen decor then, when dry, line the inside of the doors with metal and cork inserts or coat one door's interior with chalkboard paint. Put the doors to work with magnetic spice tins and hooks for utensils and push pins for holding memos and lists. Drawer inserts keep contents such as recipe files handy and neat. Use baskets, bins, glass jars, tiered shelves, and a lazy Susan to organize the pantry contents.

Revamped Armoires for Small-Space Storage: Start with a basic armoire, unfinished or just outdated by Allison Maze. Craft Supply & Demand: Revamp an armoire with wallpaper and ribbon trim. Adhere rectangles of wallpaper to the front of an armoire with decoupage medium. Trim the rectangles with ribbon to finish the look. Inside, this cabinet is ready for some serious crafting. Magnetic boards are attached to the inside of the doors, and pegboard covers the back.

Interesting and very organized but I don't know if all my stuff could fit in there...

I've been saying that we need to do this for years - armoire turned serving bar (ya know...since we drink so much). BUT, it would make a great serving station for drinks at a get together - alcoholic or otherwise.

Find an old TV cabnet on Craigslist and do this for storage? Kicking myself for giving ours away now...grrrrr.

Contain a whole home office inside an armoire with a few clutter-concealing solutions. An upper shelf corrals reference books and magazine holders. Essential supplies such as pencils, scissors, and notepads have a place on the desktop, too, all kept in order with desk organizers.
