Elizabeth L. Gardner, WASP pilot, WWII. The Womens Airforce Service Pilots were a pioneering group of female volunteer pilots who ferried unarmed planes from factories and airbases in the US into war zones so male pilots could focus on combat flying. The main character of Duster would have been a WASP, if not for the death of her husband site.fashionbagarea.com $105-189! Chanel bags outlet| See more about chanel handbags here
The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) were the pioneering organizations of the civilian female pilots, employed to fly military aircraft under the direction of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. The female pilots of the WASP ended up numbering 1,074, each freeing a male pilot for combat service and duties. They flew over 60 million miles in every type of military aircraft. The WASP was granted veteran status in 1977, and given the Congressional Gold Medal in 2009.

The movie “The Rocketeer” captured a fair bit of the 1930′s art deco design ethic in props and sets. Some of that revolved around a “Cirrus X3″ rocketpack (actually a jetpack) designed by Howard Hughes and intended to be unveiled at the 1939 World’s Fair.

I've done loops and rolls in a plane. Ridden in a hot air balloon. But barnstorming in a biplane is still a desire of mine.

The aircraft is a PBY-5A model and was bought from the US Navy by Thomas W Kendall. On 22nd March 1960 Thoms Kendall landed at the Strait of Tirana to spend the night. Next day a group of Bedouins attached to the Saudi Arabian army thought they were Israeli commandos and attacked his party. Photo: kendo1938bravesites.com.
Sea Plane- a vacationing family abandoned this plane after being attacked with machine guns then captured by a group of Bedouins attached to the Saudi Arabian army, who had taken them to be Israeli commandos.
It's a beautiful seaplane abandoned between the sea and the desert of Saudi Arabia and it's been left there for almost 50 years.
