The Pont Neuf , is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris, France. Its name, which was given to distinguish it from older bridges that were lined on both sides with houses, has remained. It stands by the western point of the Île de la Cité, the island in the middle of the river that was the heart of medieval Paris.

The Roman Forum, shown in the picture, was the center for public Roman life and a very important area for everyone during the Republic. It was the place of elections, public speeches, criminal trials, and even gladiatorial matches.

Rome, the eternal city. Got to face the facts here: there are a ton of tourists. But there are so many nooks and crannies that it IS possible to escape the beaten path. Still, must return to the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. And Palatine Hill. And find the prison where Paul and Peter were rumored to be held. And St. Peter in Chains...

Going to Italy and eating real Italian food in a small restaurant like this is pretty high up on my bucket list.
