I've decided to refer to Bill Bryson for this scene, when he describes tromping around an abandoned house with his older siblings.

Coudersport, PA...Dempster Lane. I can't even imagine why this beauty would be abandon. Had to be not by choice.

Talk about designing a house with many levels and styles...this is it. Actually I think it is fun and very interesting. A view from every height. Would love to own this and restore. Sigh.

The garden front of Kings Weston House grows evermore wild and unkempt. The house has almost disappeared from view along much of it and only appears at the end of the overgrown avenue half way down the length. Adds to the atmosphere of the place i guess

The detail on this building is exceptional. The liberty-style house (built 1902-1907) still stands in Pesaro, Italy. Today it's owned privately and well maintained.
