New Blood Test Could Help Detect Eight Common Cancers Before They Spread  DNA and biomarkers could be used to detect and identify cancers, including five types for which there is currently no screening test. “If this proves to be effective, it would allow us to catch more cancers sooner,” said Benjamin T. Herms, MD, medical oncologist with OHC, “especially cancers that aren’t often detected until they are in the later stages.”
