The Discovery 1 Tall Sailing Ship, Wellington Dock, Dover Marina, Kent, England, UK. Starboard view of the replica ship taken in May 2007. Original vessel was a small pre-1602 20-ton, 38 foot (12 m) long "fly-boat" of the British East India Company. Sailed under Captain Christopher Newport (a principal master of the Royal Navy) with ships, Susan Constant and Godspeed, on the voyage that founded Jamestown in new Colony of Virginia in 1607.
