Chief Bearhart winning the 1997 Breeders' Cup Turf.  Chief Bearhart, a chestnut, was a son of Chief's Crown and a grandson of Six Crowns, daughter of Secretariat.  Chief Bearhart won the 1996 Breeders' Stakes (the only leg run on turf of the Canadian Triple Crown), 1997 Elkhorn Stakes, King Edward Breeders' Cup Stakes, Canadian International Stakes, Sky Classic Stakes, Breeders' Cup Turf, 1998 Niagara Breeders' Cup Turf Handicap, Sky Classic Stakes,(2nd time), and Manhattan Handicap.

Chief Bearhart was trained by Mark Frostad and when he switched him from dirt to grass Chief Bearhart became a turf star and set a course record in the Manhattan Handicap.
