Road passing underneath the Queen's House in Greenwich. Beautiful how road and house intersect in the form of a tunnel with patio, introducing daylight and a view in the middle of the passageway. This villa was designed by the British architect Inigo Jones from 1614-1617 and is considered to be the first consciously classical building.
View of the corner of the Petworth House in Sussex, United Kingdom, presumably by the French/dutch architect Daniel Marot. Very sober and restrained classicism probabely influenced by the Dutch 'Strakke Stijl' (Stark Style) classicism.
