I haven’t read a book this creepy, violent, or disturbing in a long time. A.M. Homes is, quite possibly, the most fearless writer I have ever read and The End of Alice is a book that is both horrifying and beautiful.
The prolific Andrew Gross, the sole author of several thrillers and co-author with James Patterson of six others, tells the story of a former New York detective in his latest, “No Way Back.” When a former cop meets a handsome stranger in a Manhattan jazz lounge, she agrees to accompany him to his hotel room. That decision leaves her on the run and wanted by the FBI. Gross lives in Westchester County, N.Y.
