This picture of Our Lady was drawn by a mystic in Italy. Her hand was guided by Our Lady. There is a special blessing given each day to the person who carries it and another blessing given each time one looks at it with love.
The title Our Lady of Loreto refers to the Holy House of Loreto, the house in which Mary was born, and where the Annunciation occurred, and to an ancient statue of Our Lady which is found there. Tradition says that a band of angels scooped up the little house from the Holy Land, and transported it first to Tersato, Dalmatia in 1291, then Recanati, Italy in 1294, and finally to Loreto, Italy where it has been for centuries

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar - Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain - built 1681-1872 on the site, according to legend, of a small chapel (reputedly the 1st church in history dedicated to the Virgin Mary) constructed about 40 A.D. by St. James - the curent building (there have been several on this site) is Baroque in style.
