All you need to create these fantastic looking night lanterns is some jars, glow stick and diamond glitter. The process is as easy as it can be – open the jar, shake the content of the glow stick into it and add the diamond glitter. Close the top of the jar with a lid and shake it well. Enjoy a romantic backyard dinner under the light of the “Fireflies” in the jars!
Put a glow stick in a balloon for pool lanterns. Pool party on a Summer night! I think this could work pinned up on the fence of a backyard without a pool, too, so really great idea for any outdoor BBQ/party!
Take that mosquitos!- Mosquito trap - Cut the top off a 2 liter bottle. Invert the cone and place it inside the straight part of the bottle. Glue the two pieces together. Add 1 tsp yeast and 1/2 cup sugar to some luke warm water, and pour the mixture into the bottle. Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide that you exhale. The yeast feeds off the sugar and emits the same gas, so the mosquito enters the bottle, thinking she will find food there.
DIY : Luminous Glass Wearing gloves, carefully cut the ends of various colored glow sticks. Swirl the cut end around the inside of any clear glass bottle, jar or bowl to coat them with the glow solution. You can experiment with multiple colors in one jar for a tie dye glow look. Enjoy these lovely jars for any of your gatherings. They are the perfect touch for any party. (Idea compliments of http://www.bes.miche.com)
DIY Mary Kay's Satin Hands - I decided to see if it works. And boy does it! I can't tell the difference! "Fill mason jar 3/4 of the way full with sugar. Then add dawn dish soap (I use the pink one that has the olay in it, smells good and moisturizes) until it reaches just below the mouth of the jar.Stir the sugar and soap together until it is paste like. If it seems to be too runny, add a little sugar at a time until it is the desired consistency."
