The future may not be bright for everyone earning a graduate degree. In fact, some PhDs and students with a Master’s Degree are actually on food stamps or doing jobs not at all related to their field of study. It’s the reality for many and it’s an important topic to understand (especially if you’re considering grad school right now).
What I notice is the type of food institutionalized hunger relief agencies offer is what I call, 'Dumbing Down Food'. The kind of food that makes one feel lethargic and listless, white flours, white rice, near dead produce; the list is long. We can develop direct relationships between the farms and the pantries. We can also come up with a plan for schools to 'opt out' of USDA food programs in order that our children be fed healthy foods.
