On August 13th 1964 the plane was bought by Avensa and registered YV-C-AVI and leased to VIASA/PIASA in June 1969 and returned to Avensa one year later. On 20 August 1973, YV-C-AVI made a hard landing causing the undercarriage to fail. The aircraft was written off and scrapped soon after.
F-BJAO Caravelle III c/n 42 at Essendon in April 1962. This aircraft was demonstrated in SE Asia and Australia in April/May 1962 and TAA in particular were very impressed and wanted to place an order for some. Government policy of the day (meddling) claimed that TAA ( a government owned airline) were not ready for pure jet operations and sided with Ansett who wanted Electra's and TAA followed with an order of their own for 3 Electra's!
