The first & last portrait photos of Lincoln as President: May 1860 & Feb 1865.

Mount Rushmore was started in 1927. It took 14 years and around 400 workers to finish the head carvings. The project cost almost $1,000,000. In 1934, the face of George Washington was unveiled to the public. Jefferson’s sculpture was unveiled in 1936. The sculpture of Abraham Lincoln’s face got completed in 1937. Theodore Roosevelt’s face was the last to be unveiled in 1941.

Robert Lincoln the son of Abraham Lincoln, was waiting to board a crowded train when the train lurched forward and he fell between the platform and the body of the passenger car he was trying to board. But before harm came, he was seized by the collar and yanked to the platform. His rescuer was Edwin Booth the brother of the man that would soon kill President Lincoln.
