Home Library About $110,000 Deborah Pierce Architetto West Newton, Mass. From a quiet inner sanctum to expansive, two-story book displays, a custom-designed library is a chance to create an intellectual center for your home. When architect Curt Lamb was called on to design a living room addition to this bungalow-style home in West Newton, Mass., the hundreds of books stacked and scattered around the home led him to the idea of designing a two-story library instead. In the 20 x 20-ft. space, Lamb had cherry millwork integrated into the exterior wall and turned the four corners into tall windows to let in natural light. A miniature set of stairs leads up to the balcony.

the only reason i would ever want a big house would be to have a library

Would like room with all the walls like this one :D

Libraries to dream, think, read, contemplate, marvel, wonder, ponder, solve, nap, and drift off into the abyss.

How cool would it be to have a sailboat in the library? Kids would love reading in that.

i love this so much. does anyone know any more about this house? i can't seem to find where it originated. crushculdesac.tum...

Gothic and dark. I kind of absolutely HAVE to have this in my house someday. With maybe some heavy velvet curtains and some leather clubchairs and a few dogs in front of the fireplace.

It's a little traditional for my taste but I just love all the windows. I can only imagine how bright it is in the daytime! Bonus points for great outdoor lightscaping.

Library... this reminds me of the library in Beauty and the Beast!
