Festa della donna

La festa della Donna: March 8 is International Women’s Day. In Italy this is a day men give bunches of mimosa to the women in their lives. The flowers are bright yellow and fragrant. The custom started in Italy, some say in Rome in 1946. Women have since begun to give mimosa to each other. The flowers are a sign of respect for and an expression of solidarity and support for oppressed women worldwide.
