Mr. Weaver ...red-headed weaver..These are seed-eating birds with rounded conical bills, most of which are from Sub-Saharan Africa, with fewer species in tropical Asia. Weaver birds, also known as weaver finches, get their name because of their elaborately woven nests (the most elaborate of any birds'), though some are notable for their selective parasitic nesting habits.

Day 12: Afghan refugee weavers at a carpet factory in the Pakistani city of Attock, sit on the dastarkhuwan, the dining mat, for Iftar. The weavers eat a humble meal of dates, fresh fruit, bread and potato curry.   After a day of hard work on the carpet looms, one of them remarks, “Nothing is better than breaking the hot summer fast with a bowl of chilled, fresh water.”  Text and photo by Duniya Aslam Khan for UNHCR
