Penguins & colorful background -- How cute are these?!?! Not too worried that my 4th graders might find this too young for them. It's so darn cold outside that they'll love decorating a penguin. Good 2 part art project for them.

I Can Draw a Cow! Having taught in rural communities, I love the reference to cows! Excellent for use with primary students just learning to mix tints. The color palette is limited to black, white, and a touch of red to make pink. Let the paint dry before finishing with blue & yellow (mix green) for the background. Delightful results. During Celebrate Freedom Week, students could make a collage of Lady-Liberty, with words that describe why they should celebrate freedom. I love the idea of art-incorporation into the mainstream classroom.
