Rose Parade float queen, Brenda A. English,1963. This was the first African American sponsored float ever ordered in the annual Pasadena Rose Parade.The Float, entitled Freedom Bursts Forth, won the best theme prize, and featured a flowered replica of the Lincoln Memorial statue.
