When I was 5 years old I had a nightmare that still haunts me to this day... A giant praying mantis like creature was bathing at sunrise by a lake. It looked over and saw me and stretched, motioning me over, much like this picture. When I, frozen in fear, could not, would not go closer... It screamed and charged at me running... That's all I remember. We started building a creature based off that moment. The past 30 years I often try to dream that I charge it now. Perhaps the project/scene in it that we are doing is my way of doing that.

Metallic Wasp...amazing bug with the emerald green colors often seen in the tiny miracles of the created world, especially among insects. Detail of the feathery looking antenna associated with moths gives a unique photo! -DdO:)

fabulous mantis - The English common name for any species in the order is "praying mantis", because of the typical "prayer-like" posture with folded fore-limbs, although the eggcorn "preying mantis" is sometimes used in reference to their predatory habits. In Europe and other regions, the name "praying mantis" refers to only a single species, Mantis religiosa
